NEW DELHI: After ongoing interruptions by opposition members over the Gautam Adani-Hindenburg report controversy, Rajya Sabha was adjourned on Monday until March 13.

Members of the opposition parties insisted that Mallikarjun Kharge, the leader of the opposition and president of the Congress, be given the opportunity to address the House shortly after the specified papers were placed on the table of the House.

When Kharge was given the floor by Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, numerous treasury benches members began yelling protests.
The chair, however, removed Kharge's comments from the record.

Meanwhile, MPs from opposing parties also continued to chant "Patil's suspension must be lifted" and a number of them gathered in the House Well.

Because Patil had disseminated an unauthorised film of house proceedings, he was expelled from the House for the duration of the Budget session.

Union Minister and Leader of the House Piyush Goyal proposed that the Chair briefly postpone the House so that he or she could address the protesting members while the slogan chanting persisted.

The Chair the adjourned the proceedings till 11:50 am.

Several MPs of the Opposition parties in Rajya Sabha including Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chaddha, Imran Pratapgarhi, Sandeep Pathak,Shakti Singh Gohil,  Kumar Ketkar among others were warned after they entered Well of the House. 

Rajya Sabha has chairman rejected the suspension of business notice given by Rajya Sabha for discussion on the Adani-Hindenburg row. AAP MP Sanjay Singh continues to demand to speak on Adani row.

Meeting of the Oppositon parties has started with leaders from Congress, NCP, AAPO, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Janata Dal (United), Communist Party of India, Kerala Congress, Rashtriya Lok Dal, and Muslim League in attendance while Trinamool Congress remained absent.
