Amidst the preparations for the Pran Pratistha ceremony, an atmosphere of panic was created when information about a bomb was received in Ram Mandir and Ram Janmabhoomi police station late on Saturday night. The police administration became helpless. Within 5 minutes of the information, the security officers reached the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. Various agencies took possession of the entire temple. Search for bombs was started from place to place.

Actually, a 12 year old boy from Shahjahanpur dialed 112 while playing a video game. On receiving the call, he jokingly said that there is a bomb in Ram Janmabhoomi police station. When a second call was immediately made from the control room, the child said that there is a bomb in Ram temple also. When the police started investigating the mobile number, it was found that the number belonged to Lilavati, resident of Pipra Japti village of Shahjahanpur district. Information was immediately given to Shahjahanpur and Ayodhya police from the control room. Shahjahanpur police reached Lilavati's house. During interrogation it was revealed that Lilavati's grandson was playing games on mobile. The child has said that while playing, suddenly an emergency call was made on number 112. He had jokingly talked about the bomb.

SP Security Pankaj Pandey has said that on the information about the bomb at around 11:30 pm on Saturday night, ATS and other security agencies immediately took up position in the Ram temple. The entire complex was searched with the help of dog squad, bomb squad and other modern security equipment. No suspicious object was found. The child had given the information jokingly while playing a video game. He has been warned.
