MOSCOW: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has rebuked Western journalists for making false reporting and denied an Associated Press report that he was taken to hospital with a heart condition.

According to the Associated Press, citing Indonesian officials, Lavrov was taken to hospital after arriving on the island of Bali for the Group of 20 summit. According to the AP, 72-year-old Lavrov was treated for heart disease.

Naturally, this is the height of construction, according to Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

Zakharova shared a video of Lavrov, who has served as President Vladimir Putin's foreign minister since 2004, reading a newspaper in the courtyard outside wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

When questioned about the report, Lavrov claimed that Western journalists had been inventing Putin's illness for ten years.
