Russia has reported 29,258 cases on December 25 taking the total toll to 3,021,964 total positive cases. The total recovered so far is 2,426,439 and the active cases remains 5,41,299. The number of cases reported critical are 2,300. Today fatalities count to 567 and the death toll till date is 54,226. Thje number of cases per million is 20,703 and deaths per million is 372, says the data from Johns Hopkins. 

Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced Thursday, the Moscow residents working in law enforcement, urban planning, sports and the catering industry will be eligible to receive Russia's Sputnik V vaccine starting Dec. 28. Social service volunteers and employees of NGOs and religious organizations will also be eligible to get the shot in the mass programme to start on December 28. He confirmed that the Moscow's vaccination campaign will continue during the New Year holiday.  

Beside Russia, Argentina has given "emergency" authorization to Russia's Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, becoming the first Latin American country to approve Russian vaccine. The first 300,000 doses of the vaccine are set to reach the country this week. Belarus state-run news agency reported this week, Belarus became the first country to register Russia's Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. Due to the highly infections variant Covid 19, Russia has imposed a mandatory 14 day Quarantine for UK arrivals from December 26.
