New Delhi: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said that the top commanders of the Army of India and China have held nine rounds of talks to withdraw troops in East Ladakh and such talks will continue to be done in future. Jaishankar said in Vijayawada on Saturday that so far there has been no visible impact on the land. He said, 'The issue of withdrawal of troops is very complicated. It depends on the armies. You should know about your (geographical) location and events. Military commanders are working on it. '

Jaishankar was asked if there could be a ministerial dialogue between the two countries over the skirmishes between the soldiers of India and China. On this question, the Foreign Minister gave this answer. Jaishankar said, 'Army commanders have held nine rounds of talks so far. We feel that some progress has been made, but this cannot be seen as a solution. The impact of these negotiations has not been seen on the ground.'

The External Affairs Minister said that he and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had spoken to their counterparts last year and it was agreed that troops should retreat in some areas. There is a military standoff between India and China in East Ladakh since May 5 last year. Several rounds of military and diplomatic level negotiations have been held between the two countries to end the tension, but so far no solution has been found.
