Amritsar: The war of words between political parties has intensified ahead of next year's Punjab assembly elections. In the same vein, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Badal has attacked former Indian cricketer and Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu. He has called Sidhu mental.
Talking to the media, Sukhbir Badal said, 'Navjot Singh Sidhu is a 'mental Sidhu'. I don't want to say anything about him. He doesn't take anybody seriously. Badal said Sidhu's mind is shaken. What should he talk about? He doesn't even know what to talk about at which place. The SAD leader said that the Congressmen themselves are upset. By making him the Punjab President, Congress has screwed itself up. Nobody takes Sidhu seriously. Even before this Badal has targeted Sidhu. Last week, he had taken a dig at Congress state president Navjot Singh Sidhu over the sacrilege case and the 1984 Sikh riots.
Sukhbir Singh Badal had said, "In the sacrilege case, Sidhu is saying that the accused should be hanged. But I want to ask him to first hang the Gandhi family for the 1984 riots. There have been cases of cruelty in Punjab. Sidhu had then demanded that the culprits be hanged openly.
