At the prestigious COP28 climate summit held in Dubai, Sadhguru, the esteemed founder of the Save Soil Movement, delivered a compelling message about the unifying force of soil during the event's inaugural sessions on Friday. Among the distinguished attendees were prominent global figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, World Bank President Ajay Banga, French President Emmanuel Macron, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, UAE’s Minister of Climate Change and Environment HE Mariam Almheiri, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Sadhguru, emphasizing the profound significance of soil, articulated, “Irrespective of our identities, beliefs, or destinations in the afterlife, we all originate from the same soil, rely on it for sustenance, and eventually return to it upon our demise.” Speaking passionately at the Faith Pavilion within COP28, he declared, “Soil stands as the ultimate unifying element! Leaders of faith wield tremendous influence to motivate both the public and policymakers towards implementing vital soil revitalization policies.”

 

His insightful address underscored the pivotal role that faith leaders can play in fostering awareness and advocating for policies aimed at rejuvenating and preserving the Earth's essential soil resources.
