Bangalore: Three months after cabinet minister KS Eshwarappa's 'saffron flag' statement created a ruckus in the Karnataka Assembly, he reiterated his point on Monday. The cabinet minister has said that there is no doubt that someday the saffron flag will become the national flag. It is noteworthy that, in February this year, the minister had said that the saffron flag can become the national flag in the coming time. This will not happen soon, but it may take a long time, but in future the saffron flag will be hoisted at the Red Fort instead of the tricolor.
KS Eshwarappa, who was the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj in the BJP government of Karnataka, has once again reiterated his point that, 'respect for saffron has neither started from yesterday nor today, it has been respected for thousands of years. It is happening. Saffron flag is a symbol of sacrifice... There is no doubt that the RSS flag will become the national flag someday. To inculcate the spirit of sacrifice, RSS worships the saffron flag by placing it in front. According to the Constitution, the tricolor is the national flag and we give the respect that should be given to the tricolor.
At the same time, AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has reacted sharply to the statement of the BJP leader. Posting on the indigenous social media app Koo, he has written that 'BJP anti-tricolor, send the traitors of the country to jail, the idiots. I have lodged a complaint against BJP MLA K.S.Eshwarpa at North Avnu police station for opposing the national flag tricolor and should be sent to jail after registering a sedition FIR against him.
