According to the information received, he said goodbye to the world at the age of 74. He was born in the year 1948 in Srinagar, his full name is Bhajan Lal Sopori and his father Pandit SN Sopori was also a Santoor wadi. Bhajan Sopori (Pandit Bhajan Sopori) got the knowledge of Santoor from his grandfather S.C. Sopori and father SN Sopori at home. It can also be said that he inherited the teachings of santoor playing.

He was educated in singing style and instrumental style from his grandfather and father, and Bhajan Sopori obtained a master's degree in English literature. After this, he also studied Western Classical Music from the University of Washington. Along with this, Pandit Bhajan Sopori, who hails from Srinagar district of the Kashmir division, belongs to Sufiana Gharana, since his grandfather and father were proficient in playing Santoor, that is why Pandit Bhajan Sopori worked to carry forward his legacy. It is said that Pandit Bhajan Sopori made an album Nat Yoga on Santoon. Not only this but Pandit Bhajan Sopori (Sa, Ma, Pa) is also the founder of Sopori Academy for Music and Performing Arts.

The main objective of this Academy is to promote classical music. Pandit Bhajan Sopori is the only classical music from India who has composed music for more than four thousand songs in almost all the languages of the country including Sanskrit, Arabic, and Persian. He has composed three ragas and these include Raag Laleshwari, Raag Patwanti and Raag Nirmal Ranjani. At the moment, fans are saddened and mourning his death.
