During that time, Divya was in her house on the fifth floor of the Tulsi apartment in West Andheri, Versova, Mumbai. Her friend and designer Neeta Lulla came to her house to meet her with her husband. All three were sitting in the living room and were drinking alcohol. Meanwhile, Divya's maid Amrita was also there. At 11 o'clock that same night, Amrita went into the kitchen for some work, and Neeta was watching TV with her husband. Then Divya went towards the window of the room and from there she was talking loudly to her maid in a loud voice. The window in Divya's living room did not have a grill. It's said that under the same window there was a parking spot but no car was standing on that day. Divya standing at the window slipped her leg as soon as she tried to turn. After that Divya fell down. She was rushed to the hospital but could not survive.

Divya's shocking death did not even complete 1 year and Sajid found his new love- Yes, Divya died on 5 April 1993 and Wardha Khan met Sajid on Divya's first death anniversary. When Wardha Khan met Sajid during that time, she had understood that Sajid was made for her. When Wardha Khan first met Sajid, she was 16 years old and during that time she became an addict of Sajid. Not Sajid but Wardha Khan persuaded her to marry him. Wardha Khan herself told about the marriage news.
