India's famous wrestler Sakshi Malik is celebrating her birthday today. Sakshi Malik was born on 3 September 1992. Sakshi Malik has won the bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is the first female wrestler to win an Olympic medal for the country. Earlier, she won the silver medal representing India at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Sakshi Malik also represented the country in the 2014 World Wrestling Competition. He belongs to a Jat community. The same Sakshi's father Mr. Sukhbir Malik is a bus conductor in DTC and his mother Mrs. Sudesh Malik is an anganwadi worker. At the 2016 Olympics, Sakshi won a bronze medal under the repechage system. In this match, she was trailing 5–0 at one time, but made a great comeback and eventually won 7-5.

The two winning points in the last few seconds were challenged by the rival side, but the judges upheld their decision, adding another point in the unsuccessful challenge to the witness's account, which the final score was 8-5. It was the country's first medal at the 2016 Olympics. After winning the medal, he was announced to give many prizes. Together, the Government of India conferred Sakshi with the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 2016. With this, Sakshi has achieved many feats in her life.
