Lucknow: A Samajwadi Party (SP) worker named Devendra Yadav alias Bablu has committed suicide after his party's defeat in the state at Madhoganj in Beelgram tehsil of Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh. A 40-year-old SP worker committed suicide by shooting himself in the head on Tuesday (March 15, 2022). His family says that he was very upset after the party's defeat and the local people made fun of him. The police handed over the body to the family after conducting the postmortem.

Giving information about this on social media, Jitendra Verma, SP district president and party's national spokesperson in Hardoi, wrote that, "Devendra Singh Yadav Bablu ji, a resident of Madhoganj, committed suicide by shooting himself after being saddened by the defeat of the Samajwadi Party. Samajwadi Party will always remember the contribution of Devendra Yadav ji. Humble tribute.' People asked him whether any big leader of SP has gone to meet the family.

It is being told that Devendra Yadav Bablu had taken the responsibility of getting maximum votes for his party's candidate in his village, but he failed to do so. When he committed suicide by shooting himself with a country-made pistol, he was alone in a room on the second floor of his house. Apart from his wife Sangeeta, there are three children in his family. He was taken to the local community health centre, where doctors declared him brought dead.
