Principle opposition in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party has announced a protest in support of the ongoing farmers’ agitation on Monday. The party has also attacked the BJP and the Central government for linking the farmer's protest to ‘Naxalite' and 'Anti-national’ elements.

Party's MLC Sunil Singh Sajan in a statement here on Sunday said, “The farmers of the country are on a continuous strike for their genuine demands from the government in the chilly winter, but the govt wants to suppress the farmers' movement. The Samajwadi Party MLC said, “Our party workers will hold peaceful protests at all the district and city headquarters. The govt is free to do whatever they can. The Samajwadi Party worker will now reach every village and expose the lies of the BJP,” Sajan said.
