The popular actress Vijayalakshmi has been admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru. She is set to be suffering from high blood pressure and is under intensive care in the ICU. She was admitted to the Malya hospital in Bangalore owing to high blood pressure and tiredness. However, the treatment is going well and the actress is recovering. Unable to take care of the medical bills, her sister has requested people from the industry to help them.

Vijayalakshmi’s sister, Usha Devi has issued a statement saying they are going through a financial crisis and are unable to support the actress' treatment. She said, "All this while we were taking care of our mother. We spent all we had on her treatment. Now, we have no money to get my sister treated. We really need help from the industry people."

Vijayalakshmi did many movies in the Kannada film industry in the 2000s. Then in Tamil, she did roles opposite leading heroes like Vijay, Surya (Friends) and Arya (Boss Yenkira Bhaskaran). Apart from movies, she has worked  in many Kannada and Tamil serials too. The last movie she did was hip-hop Adhi's Meesaiya Murukku.
