This year February is not easily considered a good month for the Kannada film industry. With this, there is only one Friday left in the month and at least nine films are being released every week. On average, 40 films are ready for theater hall in just 29 days. Actually, Kannada film viewers have more than one film to watch in a day. Also at an event, actor Jaggesh told that the industry people are with an audience of seven crore Kannada, though the reality is that 4 lakh of them actually watch Kannada movies on the big screen.
Also in a recent post on social media, director Chaitanya KM wrote, "Here's what happened to Kannada cinema. We should celebrate it instead of regretting it. In the last few weeks, a whole bunch of good films are in theaters , Who are struggling for space. You also have Love Mocktail, Dia, Malgudi Days, Gentleman and more. All good movies, waiting for a viewer. Mary Ilm Adya popcorn Monkey Tiger, Shivaji Surathkal was released with other films.
While producer and distributor Karthik Gowda points out that a regulatory board cannot work to control the number of releases. "It has been tried and tested in Tamil Nadu and it has not worked." Furthermore, if filmgoers such as the Kantak Film Chamber of Commerce intervene, filmmakers may drag them to court to release their films. Filmmakers are happy to solve it. Hopefully, the actual filmmakers will understand that they have made a mistake by hurrying up the release date with their films and they will make better plans for their next ventures.
