New Delhi: Shooter Sanjeev Rajput has won the silver medal in ISSF World Cup. Like this, he achieved the Olympic quota for the country. Sanjeev made a stunning comeback to win the silver medal in the men's 50-meter rifle three-position event on Thursday to ensure the eighth Olympic quota in shooting for India.

The 38-year-old shooter scored 462 points in the finals to finish at the second position in the podium behind Peter Gorsa (462.2) of Croatia. Sanjeev has been an Olympian twice. He said that "I was a bit nervous during the entire qualification because one of my shots scored zero". He said, 'When we protested and then put an extra shot which was 10 and I qualified easily.

Rajput said, 'Rather we are still protesting because my score should be 1180, not 1181. He could have won the gold medal but he missed his second World Cup gold medal by 0.2 points at 8.8 in the final shot. He said, 'It was a little late shot. There is timing in your mind as if the entire shot process should be over in 30-40 seconds".
