Bollywood actor Saurabh Shukla, popularly known as Kallu Mama, was born on March 5 in the upazila city of Gorakhpur. Saurabh may have been born in Purvanchal, UP, but his studies were written in Delhi. Two years after Saurabh's birth, his family moved to Delhi. Saurabh did his schooling from Delhi and has also completed his graduation from Delhi's Khalsa College. Saurabh Shukla's first love has been theatre. Saurabh, who learned the nuances of acting from theatre from the National School of Drama, also has many great plays to his name.

Saurabh Shukla acquired art in his inheritance. Her mother Jogmaya Shukla was India's first female tabla player, while her father Shatrughan Shukla was a musician of the Agra gharana. Talking to the media, Saurabh Shukla had said that both his mother and father were actors, both of them were very interesting in the movie. They always went to watch movies with their children. Saurabh got a filmy atmosphere in his house since his childhood. His mother showed him the way to act.

Saurabh Shukla came from famous producer-director Shekhar Kapur's 'Bandit Queen' in Bollywood.  Saurabh Shukla's acting in this movie was liked by the audience, after which he worked in movies like 'Not Iss Raat Ki Nahin', 'Close' and 'Zakhm', but Saurabh Shukla'  s work got real recognition and name  from Ram Gopal Varma's movie 'Satya'. In this movie, he played the role of gangster Kallu Mama and celebrated his acting iron. After playing the role of Kallu Mama, Saurabh Shukla came to be known by the same name.

Saurabh Shukla had said at a movie festival that he did not want to work in Satya Movie. This movie was only for the role of Kallu Mama. What Saurabh knew then was that this character would prove to be a milestone in his acting  career. Reports say that Saurabh is also the co-writer of 'Satya', who has written this film together with Anurag Kashyap.
