New Delhi: Hosting the Asia Cup 2022, which is scheduled to be held a few months later, has now shifted from Sri Lanka to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly has given information in this regard after the Apex Council meeting on Thursday. According to Dada, the UAE is the only place where there will be no possibility of rain during the tournament even this season. Sri Lanka Cricket had told the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Wednesday that the board will not be in a position to host the upcoming phase of the Asia Cup T20 due to the economic and political crisis in the country. Sri Lanka Cricket had also recently postponed the third phase of the Lanka Premier League due to the current crisis. The last Asia Cup was held in 2018. It was also hosted by the UAE.
