The court said, 'Your case is not an ordinary fraud case. Look at the plight of thousands of home buyers. You can't get our sympathies. You better enjoy your stay in jail, this court knows very well what you did. You messed up and we can't find a way around it. A large number of home buyers are suffering.' Let us tell you that earlier the Supreme Court had granted interim bail for a few weeks to Anil Sharma in this case on the basis of medical condition. Anil Sharma and others have been in jail since their arrest in 2018 for several different offences, including cheating, criminal breach of trust and money laundering, and have spent nearly four years in prison. He has been accused of siphoning off money from home buyers.
