NEW DELHI: Today the top court has again dismissed the petition for a ban on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus. The petitioner, a lawyer named Manohar Lal Sharma, stated the Censor Board’s green signal to the film was "illegal", and added that its screening may form law and order problems.

“Sorry”, said the three-judge bench of the SC chaired by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra.

Dismiss to think about yet another plea against 'Padmaavat', the Supreme Court decisively said today that “Sorry“, it's the court's job to function as a “constitutional court", which proved yesterday after SC’s verdict to lift ban from all states over most controversial flick of Indian cinema Padmavat. The SC further said that the job to maintain law and order is the responsibility of government's and not a court of law's.

"The court has to function as a constitutional court and it has already yesterday in its interim order said that states can't block a movie from screening," noted the SC bench, dismissing the petition.

The SC removed the ban yesterday upon hearing a petition from makers of the flick ‘Padmavat’ which imposed by states such as Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana M.P.
