In various states across the country many schools and educational institutions are resuming operation in a graded manner. While many states have already reopened the schools for few classes, some other states including Andhra Pradesh, Assam and Uttarakhand have decided to reopen schools from today, November 2, 2020. 

Along with these states, Navodaya Vidyalaya  and Kendriya Vidyalaya have also planned to reopen schools across the country for classes IX to XII from November 2 onwards. All the states have issued new guidelines for reopening schools.

In Andhra Pradesh   Schools will conduct classes for students on alternate days and classes would be held till noon. Each classroom will have only 16 students. Each and everyone will have to follow social distancing norms and will have to wear masks. Washing hands is also one of the mandatory rules that will be followed in schools.

In Himachal Pradesh government has insisted that the consent of parents must be mandatory for students who wish to attend school and attendance would not be compulsory. Each and everyone will have to follow social distancing norms and will have to wear masks.

In Assam teaching would begin from November 2 for the students of class 6 and above. Classes will start early in the morning and maintain a proper gap between classroom timings of two groups of students and keep toilets clean and sanitized. The education ministry has instructed the department to provide iron and folic acid tablets to students to boost their immunity.

Tamil Nadu has decided to reopen schools from November 16 onwards, while Odisha will reopen schools from November 16 for classes 9 to 12, and for other classes, the school will remain closed till November 30. Rajasthan government has also decided that schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions will remain closed for students and regular classes till November 16.
