The inspection would be taken up on Wednesday and the last day for withdrawal of candidature is April 27.

The election campaign has gained impetus in Karnataka. The battle has now reached the doors of the Election Commission with the BJP meeting EC officials in Delhi with a demand for free and fair polls in the state. Over 3,925 nominations had been filed for 224 assembly seats, the sources of authorities said.

The party submitted a memorandum alleging that the ruling Congress in Karnataka is resorting to all sorts of unprofessional conducts to fix the assembly elections.

Meanwhile, Tuesday on the very last day of filing nominations for the May 12 assembly elections, state Chief Minister Siddaramaiah filed his nomination from Badami Assembly seat and interestingly BJP candidate B Sriamulu also filed his nomination from the same seat.

BJP on Monday released the 4th list of 7 candidates and now lifted up the total number of candidates fielded by the party to 220. Very soon PM Modi will be joining the campaign track of poll-bound state. Congress has already released its list of nominees for all the seats. Polls Results will be declared on 15th May.
