Kedarnath tragedy: Search operation launched to find 3000 missing bodies, 10 teams formed

Dehradun: In 2013, thousands of people were killed and almost as many went missing in a disaster at Kedarnath in Uttarakhand, which is yet to be ascertained. The Uttarakhand police has once again launched a search operation for the bodies of those missing and killed, where they will be cremated after conducting DNA tests.

Ten teams have been set up by the police for a seven-day intensive search operation to be launched from now on. Several search operations have been carried out by the regime over the past six years to search for male skeletons, in which more than 700 skeletons were recovered, while the bodies of more than 3000 people have still not been found. During the 2013 disaster, the Indian Army and police rescued thousands of people and saved their lives. More than 4000 bodies were recovered by rescue teams, but more than 3700 people have been missing since then. A search operation was carried out several times in which the police had succeeded in recovering 700 bodies.

The search for skeletons is being resumed by the police from today. A search operation will be conducted jointly by the police and SDRF through ten teams. Local residents will also be assisted. Local residents have more information than all sorts of people and are not aware of the routes.
