Second phase of 'Vande Bharat Mission' from May 17, booking started

New Delhi: 'Vande Bharat Mission' and 'Samudra Setu' campaign are being launched to bring home thousands of Indians trapped abroad due to Coronavirus epidemic and lockdown. Now the Modi government at the Center has announced the second phase of bringing Indians under the 'Vande Bharat Mission'. The second phase will run from 17 May to 3 June i.e. 18 days.

Booking for the special aircraft under the second phase of Air India 'Vande Bharat Mission' has also started from 5 pm on Thursday evening. Under this phase, people stranded in 31 countries including the US, England, Australia and Singapore will be brought back to India. As part of the second phase of the drive to bring Indians home, 30,000 stranded Indians will be brought back home in 149 international flights from 31 countries. Most of these flights will be operated by Air India and some by Air India Express.

The campaign will start from May 17, when Air India Express will start operating flights, followed by Air India, which will start its operations on May 19 which will continue till June 3. in the first phase of the Vande Bharat Mission, Indians stranded in 15 countries were brought home, but in the second phase, this number will be doubled.
