New Delhi: The second wave of covid infection in the country is still intact, though the epidemic seems to be much slower and lighter than before. Not only that, daily infected cases of covid infection are coming down to less than one lakh for the fourth consecutive day since Tuesday, though daily death figures fluctuating. There is no need to tell anyone how doctors at the forefront of the war with covid infection are risking their lives and serving the country. Meanwhile, several frontline workers including those associated with the medical ministry have lost their lives. Recently, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) said that 719 doctors have lost their lives amidst the second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic. Bihar has the highest number of 111 doctors, with 109 deaths in Delhi.

The daily cases of covid infection in the country have been reported to be less than one lakh for the 5th consecutive day. In the last 24 hours, 84,332 new cases of covid infection have been reported in the country, while more than 4,000 patients have lost their lives. In the intervening 24 hours, 4,002 patients succumbed to their injuries in front of Covid.

From 21st June to 18 years of age, people above the age of 18 years have once again started getting covid vaccine. However, due to shortage of covid vaccine, several vaccination centres have been closed. In view of the shortage in daily cases of Covid, many States have started the process of unlocking but there are some States where corona curfew and lockdown are still imposed.
