Srinagar: Today, an encounter started in Bandipora sector of Jammu and Kashmir, during which two terrorists were gunned down by the security forces.

To detain the terrorists, who secretly opened fire, an area was cordoned-off jointly by the army and the police. As well as, an operation is still underway to ensure that no further terrorists are hidden in the region.

Around 287 incidents of cross-border firing have been reported along the LoC and the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir since the day when surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army on terrorist launch pads in PoK.
