BANGALORE: Senior advocate and RTI activist T J Abraham said on Monday that he would step ahead to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a corruption case against  Karnataka Ex-Chief Minister  B S  Yediyurappa.

Abraham had submitted a plea to the Karnataka Special Court, which was set up to hear cases involving MPs, MLAs, and the Karnataka High Court, asking for an investigation into Yediyurappa, his son B.Y. Vijayendra, Minister for Cooperation S.T. Somashekar, and six other people. The petition had been rejected by the special court.

The special court was ordered to review the case after the man filed an appeal with the High Court of Karnataka.
Mr.Abraham said, "Special Judge cannot direct proceedings for the offences under PMLA and the complainant is reserved the liberty to begin suitable procedures as per permissible method in line with Law." Abraham added that after persuading the Special Court to move forward and launch an investigation, he would attempt to get his petition restored. according to CrPc Section 156(3)A.

The accusers Yediyurappa, Vijayendra, Shashidhar Maradi, Sanjay Shree, Chandrakantha Ramalingam, K. Ravi, and Virupakshappa Yamakanamaradi will have to file an FIR as a result, he claimed.

In the upcoming week, he said, he would also file a Writ Petition with the High Court asking for guidance on how to instruct the Chief Secretary to handle the sanction request pending against the accused G.C. Prakash.
Abraham stated that he would ask the Assembly's Speaker to resolve the ongoing appeal for sanctions against accused Minister S.T. Somashaker.

He also said that, in accordance with the High Court of Karnataka's recommendation, he will contact the Director of Enforcement (ED) within a week to begin proceedings under the PML Act against B.S. Yediyurappa and all the others.
Abraham claimed that while in office as the chief minister of Karnataka, Yediyurappa and members of his family accepted bribes from Ramalingam Construction Company totaling hundreds of crores in exchange for awarding contracts for housing projects run by the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA).

The Central Parliamentary Board and the Central Election Committee, the BJP's two highest decision-making bodies, currently have Yediyurappa as a member. In advance of the 2018 Assembly elections in Karnataka, he declared that he would never allow the Congress to win the majority and 150 seats in the state.
