Jammu: Political uproar has increased considerably in the country over the past few days, meanwhile, party president Mehbooba Mufti is unable to stop the ongoing controversy in the People's Democratic Party (PDP) even after several attempts. On Tuesday, former MLC and senior PDP leader Surendra Chaudhary has resigned from the party. According to Chaudhary, 108 elected members, BDC, DDC, and Sarpanch have also resigned from the party. Stating the reason behind this, he said Mehbooba Mufti is not listening to party workers. Note that earlier he had resigned as general secretary of the party due to factionalism.
After resigning from the post of the same general secretary, Chaudhary said, "I have not only left the office and have also conveyed the entire situation to Mehbooba Mufti. If she does not resolve the issues raised on my behalf, then I will take my next step." Chaudhary is considered to be the face of PDP in Jammu province since the year 2019. He also took a front with senior leaders who rebelled against Mehbooba and tried to save the party's mass base in Jammu province.
At the same time, Chaudhary's closed one's said that he was angry with Mehbooba for giving some special persons a place in the Political Advisory Committee. He has been accusing these persons of working against the PDP. In the past, People's Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti had reshuffled the organizational structure of the party and nominated new officials as well as new members of the Political Affairs Committee. She had named senior leader Abdul Rehman Veeri as the party's vice-president, while GN Lone Hanjura, Surinder Chaudhary, Amak Singh Reen, and Rashid Malik were named general secretaries of the party.
