Mumbai: A 64-year-old man has died from a heart attack during the 'Tata Mumbai Marathon 2020' held on Sunday morning in Mayanagari Mumbai. The deceased elder is named Gajanan Maljalkar, who was running in the category of senior citizen. Maljalkar suddenly collapsed after running for four km, after which he was rushed to the Bombay Hospital for medical treatment, where doctors declared him dead.

The Public Relations Officer of the Bombay Hospital has said that 64-year-old Gajanan Maljalkar died of a heart attack during the Tata Mumbai Marathon this morning. He was declared dead. Today a total of seven people suffered a heart attack during the race. All are undergoing treatment in the hospital. The 17th edition of the Tata Mumbai Marathon was attended by over 55,000 people, a record. These included Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray, who came to flag off the Half Marathon.

The half marathon started at 5.15 am, while the 10 km marathon started at half past six in the morning. The 10-km marathon started at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST) station in Mumbai and thousands of people ran through the city at Bandra-Worli Sealink, Marine Drive, Mahalaxmi Racecourse, Haji Ali and Pedar Road, but Gum was also involved in the atmosphere due to the death of an elderly and heart attack on 7 people.
