Shabana Azmi ,the veteran actress is of the outlook that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) should neither censor or certify movies, in its place only classify them.

Azmi made statement regarding the controversy of Udta Punjab,where the filmmakers got involved into a struggle with the censor board over the film body's demand for multiple cuts in the movie.

Shabana tweeted as, “CBFC shud become a body that does not censor or even certify ONLY CLASSIFY films. That gives the audience the choice to watch a film or not"

Udta Punjab,directed by Abhishek Chaubey is bassed on the matter of substance abuse in the state,after CBFC decision the makers moved to Bombay HC and the HC cleared the movie for release only just with one cut.
