To deal with rumours spreading in rural areas about Corona infection, a woman police officer has found a unique way to avoid it by connecting 32 villages of her police post to social media. Vaishnavi Pandey, the lone female employee and in-charge of Budh Keshwahi Police Outpost with about 10 policemen, has formed a group on WhatsApp and has connected the members of the Village Defense Committee including Sarpanch, Secretary, Employment Assistant, Asha and Anganwadi worker from all the villages.

Vaishnavi told that before forming this group, all the people first contacted and then added them. She also instructed everyone to post only information related to the corona in the group. For example, the arrival of a villager or labourer from another district or state, information of suspicious persons, misleading information or rumour. Such information has been directed to be posted immediately along with other information including the name of the village. Vaishnavi further told that the police now reach there immediately after getting information about all the activities happening in the villages due to the formation of a group. Vaishnavi said that with the help of the people, the war on corona infection is continuing.
