New Delhi: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is all set to protest in Delhi today to protest against the agricultural laws brought by the Centre. The SAD protesters want to take out a march from Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib to Parliament. Police have made elaborate arrangements to stop them. The mild force was also used on the people moving forward in the morning.

Delhi Police stopped Akali activists who were going to participate in the demonstration at the Jhadoda border. All vehicles with Punjab numbers were returned. The activists opposed it but were forcibly stopped by the police and CRPF. The activists then returned to the border. Police said the march has not been allowed due to covid rules. The Akali Dal is celebrating Black Day today to protest against the Agriculture Bill. Akali Dal president Sukh Singh Badal and Harsimrat Kaur Badal had urged people to join the demonstration on Tuesday. In a tweet, Harsimrat Kaur said that police have closed all entry points in Delhi and have also detained some activists. He said it is a non-declared emergency.

The Agriculture Bill was opposed by the Opposition as well as the BJP's ally, the Akali Dal. Even such a situation come that Harsimrat Kaur had resigned as a minister at the Centre. At the same time, the 24-year-old alliance of both parties was also broken. However, when the Bills were passed, the Akali Dal supported it.
