Ujjain: 'Shiv Jyoti Arpanam' festival is being organized on March 1 in Ujjain, MP, on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. Under this, lamps will be lit from house to house on the banks of Shipra, in temples, temples and cities. A target has been set to light 21 lakh lamps on this auspicious occasion.
Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Minister Dr Mohan Yadav informed that this function is being organized on the call of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. All sections of the society will participate in this. 13 lakh lamps will be lit on both sides on the banks of river Shipra. Apart from this, lamps will be lit in major public places of the city – Mahakal Temple, Mangalnath Temple, Kaal Bhairav ​​Temple, Garh Kalika, Siddhavat, Harsiddhi Temple. The people of the city will also light 5-5 lamps at their homes. Sankalp letters have also been filled by the people through Ujjain Municipal Corporation.
Along with this, Dr Yadav told that people have been connected through a massive outreach campaign in the 'Shiv Jyoti Arpanam' festival. More than 17 thousand volunteers have registered. These include representatives of various voluntary organizations, students, sportsmen, professional and social organizations, representatives of religious institutions, saints of all Akhadas. Blocks and sectors have been made for the arrangement of lamp lighting at Ramghat, the main venue. Volunteers have been appointed in each sector. There will also be a supervisor with them. The Guinness World Records team has also reached Ujjain to record this program as a record. Last year a record was set in Ayodhya by lighting 9.41 lakh lamps.
