New Delhi: After Punjab-Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) Bank, now another co-operative bank scam has come to light. The name of this co-operative bank is Shivajirao Bhosle Cooperative Bank. Serious irregularities have been revealed in the functioning of Pune-headquartered Shivajirao Bhosale Cooperative Bank Limited. After this, the board of directors was dismissed. After this action, nearly one lakh account holders of the bank are currently unable to withdraw their money from the bank.

After the scandal was revealed, The Commissioner of Cooperation and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, in consultation with the RBI, superseded the present board of directors, and appointed Narayan Aghav, district deputy registrar, as administrator.

About one lakh customers of the bank have been affected by this. It is notable that the promoter of this bank is Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra Legislative Council member Anil Shivajirao Bhosle. Cooperative Commissioner Satish Sone has issued an order stating that a special investigation was conducted by the RBI in April 2019. This investigation has found serious irregularities in the functioning of Shivajirao Bhosle Co-operative Bank Limited Bank.

The order also stated that the current Board of Directors of Shivajirao Bhosle Co-operative Bank has been dismissed. Sub-District Registrar Narayan Aghav has been appointed as Administrator in place of this Board of Directors. The order stated that the Registrar of Co-operative Societies and the Co-operative Commissioner have taken this decision after consulting with the RBI.
