Bhopal: By-elections are proposed for more than 25 seats in Madhya Pradesh. The power and the opposition are continuously engaged in campaigning. During the campaign, the Congress leader and former CM Kamal Nath got stuck in controversy for calling BJP leader Imarti Devi an item during a public meeting, which has now taken a big form. In support of the candidate, BJP leaders including CM Shivraj, MP Jyotiraditya Scindia protested against Kamal Nath on Monday by staging a silent sit-in for 2 hours.

"The degradation of women will not be tolerated at all", says CM Chouhan. CM Shivraj has written a letter to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi. He has questioned Sonia whether the comments made by her leader are justified? Is there no respect for women?  While attacking Kamal Nath, Shivraj said that it is a shamelessness. After finishing the silent sit-in, the CM said, "I expected clarifications, but the statement is being shamelessly justified. You can abuse me, you can call me names, but it is against every daughter and mother to make such comments".

CM Shivraj said that women have been insulted during Navratri. Kamal Nath has crossed all the limits. Sonia Gandhi, a leader of your party, a former chief minister, has made such remarks. Is it fair? Madam, if you think the comment was wrong, would you act on it? I am writing to you, you should take action. Remove him from all the posts of the party and strongly condemn his statements. If you fail to react, I will be compelled to believe that you support it".
