Madhya Pradesh government will bring labours back trapped in other states

To prevent corona across the country, the duration of locked has been extended. Now Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is going to start a big campaign to bring back lakhs of labourers of MP trapped in other states. In other states of Madhya Pradesh, 1.10 lakh labourers are stranded. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has held discussions with the Chief Ministers of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and UP for this.

He instructed the officers to make a concrete plan for the return of all the labourers home soon. Workers trapped in other districts in the state will also be able to go back to their district, but no labourers will be allowed to travel from Indore district and other infected areas. Workers from other states trapped in MP will also be allowed to visit their state. They will be able to use their own or government's means.

24% of the total immigrant workers of the country are from Uttar Pradesh only. If the workers of Uttar Pradesh go back from cities like Delhi and Mumbai, then there will be a big problem for the industry that starts after May 3. Former JNU professor and economist Prof. Arun Kumar estimates that due to shortage of labour, demand and no covid testing, about 60% of the industry will not start immediately even after getting the approval. Amitabh Kundu of Research and Information System (RIS) said that the number of immigrants in the country is about 7 crore.
