Mumbai: Shiv Sena on Monday attacked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Maharashtra unit president Chandrakant Patil for demanding the name of Aurangabad city as Sambhajinagar. In an editorial in Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana, BJP is reminded that 25 years ago the late Shivasaena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray changed the name of Aurangabad to Sambhajinagar.

Shiv Sena has not given special preference to Patil's comment, saying, why did he need to say that he is a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and there is no Aurangzeb's clout here. Pointing towards Modi, it has been said that the BJP has been taking the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for the last 5 years and now he is comparing PM Narendra Modi with Chhatrapati Shivaji.
