Islamabad: Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik did not play in the third and final T20 International against Bangladesh on Monday due to his son's illness. Iftikhar Ahmed has been included in the final XI in place of Shoaib Malik. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has informed about Shoaib Malik.
Shoaib married Indian tennis player Sania Mirza at a traditional ceremony in Hyderabad in April 2010. His son Izhaan was born after ten years of this marriage. According to a statement issued by PCB, 'Shoaib Malik will miss the third and final T20 match against Bangladesh on Monday due to his child's illness and will leave for Dubai before the match.'
PCB said that the Test team members will leave for Chittagong after the match, while the T20 International team members will return to Pakistan via Dubai on Tuesday. Pakistan, who reached the semi-finals of the recently concluded T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), lead the three-match T20 International series 2-0. In such a situation, the effort of the Pakistan team will be to win the last match and clean it up.
