Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has taken an important decision on the influx of complaints in the Secretariat of Shri Akal Takht Sahib in Amritsar, Punjab. The Jathedar has said that the complainant should bring a complaint to the Dharm Prachar Committee of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee before coming to Shri Akal Takht.

According to the Jathedar on this matter, sometimes the trend has started that some individuals or organizations are reaching with complaints in Shri Akal Takht on any matter. Most of these complaints are not related to Shri Akal Takht Sahib. Most of the complainants complain only for publishing news in newspapers or putting videos in social media. In such a situation, people first sent their complaints to the Dharm Prachar Committee of SGPC, after which the matter reached Shri Akal Takht Sahib if needed.

For your information, let us tell you that Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh told the media that Shri Akal Takht Sahib is not a police station or a grievance redressal center. For some time, Shri Akal Takht is being entangled in some issues which have nothing to do with Shri Akal Takht. At the same time, he said that the common issues which are being discussed among the Sikh scholars, are being attacked by the common people on social media and hurting the cult ideology. In response to a question, the Jathedar said that surprisingly, the government talks about social distancing for people to visit in Gurugharas and other religious places, but there is silence on liquor contracts.
