New Delhi: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has claimed that Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had once contacted him expressing his desire to join the party. Sidhu said this during a media interview. In fact, he was asked about the rumors that he might join BJP and whether the party tried to contact him in any way. He has shared a clip of the interview on his X handle. There has been no response from Mann's side yet on Sidhu's claims.

Mann wanted to become my deputy: Sidhu: Not only this, while answering the question asked by the media, Sidhu also said, "I can tell you one thing that who actually contacted me. Bhagwant Mann Saheb came to me. If he asks, I will also tell him the place where they met." The Congress leader has said about this, "He told me that sir, if I get him (Bhagwant Mann) included in the Congress, then He is ready to become my deputy and he also told me that even if you (Sidhu) join Aam Aadmi Party, he is ready to become my deputy.

'I am committed to Congress': Congress leader Sidhu has also claimed that he told Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann that he is committed to Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and it is not possible for him to leave them. Navjot Sidhu continued his talk by saying that he told Mann that if he wants, he is welcome to join Congress and he should talk to the party leadership in Delhi. There was no further discussion after this. 

Targeted at Bhagwant Mann : Reports say that Navjot Singh Sidhu has said that his only aim is to serve the people of Punjab. Taking aim at the Mann-led AAP government over the rising debt in Punjab, he also said, "They fly in planes and luxury vehicles but Punjabis have to pay the debt."
