Gadar 2 stars Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel opposite Sunny Deol in her comeback to the big screen. She gained notoriety for her reported conflict with director Anil Sharma's production company before taking to Twitter to defend Simrat Kaur, another actress, whose "intimate scenes" went viral and offended viewers on social media.

On Thursday, Ameesha Patel returned to Twitter to defend her Gadar 2 co-star Simrat Kaur, who was the target of some trolls for her prior roles. Simrat has previously worked on a few Telugu movies, such as Soni and Dirty Hari. In Gadar 2, she is paired with Utkarsh Sharma. which brings back the hit pair of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel as Tara Singh and Sakina as well. Ameesha's tweet however, received negative comments from her followers who blamed her for making Simrat become the target of trolls with her earlier tweet.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Ameesha wrote, “Spent the entire evening today defending the negativity surrounding Simrat Kaur who is paired opposite Utkarsh Sharma in GADAR 2!! Being a girl I request all to only spread positivity and not shame a girl! Let's encourage new talent!!”

Last month, the makers of Gadar 2 unveiled the official teaser. Helmed by Anil Sharma, the film stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma in the lead roles and is all set to hit the theatres on August 11. Before posting the official teaser online, the movie's creators included it alongside Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which had its theatrical re-release on June 9. The Gadar 2 teaser suggests that the story picks up immediately after Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.

The audience connected with the movie's depiction of India's division and how it affected people's lives. Back in 2001, Tara and Sakeena's epic story of loyalty, love, and sacrifice established a number of records. Now, the film's creators are getting ready to enthrall viewers with the sequel.
