According to a statement released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the total number of hens and turkeys detected with pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza during the current outbreak in Israel has topped 1 million. During the virus outbreak, 17,000 infected fattening ducks were found, and over 8,000 infected wild cranes perished in the northern Hula Lake area, according to a statement posted on Thursday by the Xinhua news agency.

These bird flu cases have been found in northern and southern Israel since mid-November last year, especially in the last three weeks.According to the Ministry, all infected chickens, turkeys, and ducks must be killed following the detections.

As a result, there is a shortage of eggs in the nation, and the Ministry has responded by allowing the duty-free import of tens of millions of eggs. "This year's bird flu outbreak is than anything we've seen in recent years." "All cases are being examined by our teams," Agriculture Minister Oded Forer stated.

Because of the spread of avian flu, Environment Minister Tamar Zandberg issued an order on Monday banning all hunting in the nation until the end of the hunting season on January 31.
