Kabul: Afghan Islamic Emirates interior minister and Haqqani Network's Aaka Sirajuddin Haqqani met families of Taliban suicide bombers. During his meeting at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul, Sirajuddin Haqqani described the fidayeen attackers as "heroes of Islam and the country." The Fidayeen attackers blew themselves up while carrying out separate attacks for the Taliban.

The Taliban's interior ministry has released pictures of Sirajuddin Haqqani meeting the family members of suicide bombers at the hotel. Sirajuddin Haqqani's face has been blurred in all the pictures. During his speech, Sirajuddin Haqqani praised the alleged jihad and sacrifice of these Fidayeen attackers. Sirajuddin Haqqani has described the suicide bombers as the heroes of the country and Islam. Terming the attackers as "martyrs," Sirajuddin said that we should avoid betraying their aspirations. He has promised land and $125 to the next of kin of all the fidayeen attackers killed.

Sirajuddin Haqqani is one of the world's most dreaded terror outfits, the head of the Haqqani Network. He has been appointed as Afghanistan's interior minister in the new Taliban government. This post is considered to be at par with the Home Minister of another country. Sirajuddin is the son of Mujahideen commander Jalaluddin Haqqani. The Haqqani group oversees the Taliban's economic and military assets along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
