New Delhi: Recently, after the ruckus in JNU, one of the best universities in the country, the CCTV cameras installed there are bad. Perhaps the direction of the investigation would have changed if the cameras had been repaired. At the same time, JNU is just an example, the condition of CCTV cameras in most areas of Delhi. But CCTV cameras play an important role in any crime, incident, post-accident investigation. But the 'third eye' is weak in most areas of Delhi. The crooks are taking advantage of this. On an average, there are 18 snatches and more than 128 vehicle theft incidents in Delhi every day. Amar Ujala on Sunday investigated CCTV cameras in different areas of Delhi.

Gandhi Nagar Market: According to information received from sources, Gandhi Nagar is considered to be Asia's largest garment market. There are more than 11 thousand shops here. Nearby there are five big markets Ashok Bazar, Subhash Road Bazar, Ram Nagar Bazar, Shanti Mohalla Market and Raghubarpura Market. Every day four to five lakh people come here in connection with shopping and their work. Electronic Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) has installed 40 cameras on the main road and crowded place to protect the market. At the same time, when it was investigated, it was found that only 20 cameras were found in proper condition, the rest were found to be bad. Here, security is placed only on the personal cameras installed by the shopkeepers.

Mandi House, Bengali Market: It has also been noticed that in the month of August in the Bengali Market area, the miscreants took a mobile prank of Aparna Mehta, wife of the Solicitor General. Apart from many IAS and IPS officers, there are also many big businessmen. At the same time, we can also say that the cameras on the main square of the Bengali market are bad. The cameras for the four directions on the roundabout are also not working. Here the Delhi government has got some cameras installed on Babur Road and Railway Road.
