Katni: A man killed his 70-year-old father with an axe in Madhya Pradesh's Katni district on suspicion of having an illicit relationship with his wife, police said on Sunday. The incident took place on Tuesday night in Kachari village under the Badwara police station area, a police official said on Thursday. Badwara police station in-charge Ankit Mishra said, "Laxman Kumhar (25) reached the village from Mumbai on Monday. He suspected that his father had an illicit relationship with his wife. After the dispute, he attacked his father Nandilal several times with an axe.''
Nandilal was first taken to the local health centre, then to the district hospital in Katni and later to the Government Medical College in Jabalpur where he died on Wednesday night, the same official said. The potter, who was trying to flee to Mumbai, has been arrested on charges of murder, he said.
