New Delhi: On Sunday, in what could spark a fresh controversy, BJP MLA Surendra Singh, said that Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Haryanvi singer-dancer Sapna Chaudhary share the same profession. The BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia, who is known for his outrageous statements, went on to say that Congress president Rahul Gandhi should start a family with Chaudhary. Singh said “Rahul ji ki Mata ji bhi Italy mein isi peshe se thi. Jaise aapke pitaji ne Sonia ji ko apna bana liya tha, aap bhi Sapna ko apna banaye. Sabse acchi baat hai saas aur bahu ek hi peshe aur culture se rahengi. (Rahul Gandhi’s mother (Sonia Gandhi) was in the same profession when she was in Italy. The way your (Rahul Gandhi’s) father started a family with Sonia ji, you should also start a family with Sapna Chahudhary. The best thing is both mother-in-law and daughter-in-law will be from the same dancing profession),”.
Here it is to be noted that Singh, who is infamous for making controversial statements, came up with these remarks a day after reports suggested that Chaudhary joined the Congress party. However, the Haryanvi singer-dancer who rose to fame through her YouTube channel where she posted videos of her songs and dances, denied the reports of joining the Congress. The BJP’s motormouth is no strange to controversy. Earlier this week, the MLA stoked a row by saying that BSP chief Mayawati does facial and colours her hair.
Singh had said "Mayawati ji khud roz facial karwati hain, vo kya humare neta ko kya shaukeen kahengi. Baal paka hua hai aur rangeen karwake ke aaj bhi apne aap ko Mayawati ji jawan saabit karti hain, 60 varsh umar ho gayi lekin sab baal kaale hain, (Mayawati ji does facial, colours her hair, how can she question PM Modi, she's crossed 60 years but colours her hair to look young),”. Last year, he had raised eyebrows by holding parents and mobile phones responsible for rising incidents of rape and crime against women.
