New Delhi: Interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi today wrote another letter to PM Modi on corona. In this letter, she has demanded free education for children orphaned in the epidemic. Sonia Gandhi urged them to consider providing free education in Navodaya Vidyalaya to children who have lost their parents or a earning member of the family in the epidemic.
Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday requested PM Modi to consider providing free education to those children in Navodaya Vidyalayas. She also wrote to PM Modi saying that it is everyone's responsibility as a nation to give these children hope for a better future. Sonia Gandhi further said, "Amidst the terrible situation of corona epidemic, there are reports of many children losing either or both of their parents who are extremely painful. These children are in shock and there is no assistance for their continuing education and future. ''
She referred to navodaya vidyalayas started during the tenure of former PM and her husband Rajiv Gandhi and said that at present 661 Navodaya Vidyalayas are functioning in the country. Sonia urged PM Modi to consider providing free education in these Navodaya Vidyalayas to children who have lost their parents or the person who has made a living out of them due to corona.
