New Delhi: Farmers have been frozen for the last 42 days on the borders of Delhi against the new agricultural laws. Congress is constantly demanding the Central Government to repeal the agricultural law. Today, Congress Working President Sonia Gandhi has issued a statement in support of farmers, targeting the central government fiercely. Sonia said that for the first time in the history of independent India, the country stands at a crossroads today.

Sonia Gandhi further said that on the one hand, the farmers of the country have been standing in support of their legitimate demands on the borders of Delhi for the last 42 days, while the country's autocratic, insensitive and ruthless BJP government is engaged in breaking the back of the poor farmers and the middle class. In the midst of an economy shattered by the all-round attack on Corona, the Modi government is engaged in turning the disaster into an opportunity to fill its treasure.

Today the price of crude oil is $ 50.96 per barrel i.e. only 23.43 per litre. Even after this, diesel is being sold for 74.38 and petrol 84.20 per litre. This is the highest in the last 73 years. In spite of lower prices in the global market, the government has broken all records of profit recovery by increasing the excise duty in a big way instead of giving its benefits to the general consumer. In the last six and a half years, the Modi government has increased the excise duty and collected about 19,00,000 crores from the pocket of common people.
