South Korean President's approval rating gains to 42.7 percent

SEOUL: South Korean President Moon Jae-in's approval rating gained 1.0 percentage points to 42.7 percent last week, a weekly poll revealed on Monday. Support for Moon's ruling Democratic Party lost 0.1 percentages to 32.6 percent last week, according to economic reports of South Korea. The negative assessment on Moon's conduct of state affairs declined 0.1 percentage point to 54.4 percent, according to the Realmeter survey.

The main conservative opposition People Power Party notably garnered 37.1 percent of support last week, up 1.8 percentage points from the previous week. The minor center-right People's Party won a 7.4 percent of approval score, followed by the minor center-left Open Democratic Party with 6.9 percent and the minor progressive Justice Party with 3.5 percent. The result was based on a survey of 2,520 voters conducted from September 6 to 10.

It had plus and minus 2.0 percentage points in margin of error with a 95 percent confidence level.
