Chennai: A speeding truck carrying sand rammed into a parked traveller bus in Tamil Nadu's Salem district, police said on Sunday. 6 people lost their lives in this painful accident. While the same number of people are said to be injured in this accident. The people of Bethanayakanapalayam were on their way to the state capital Chennai in a traveller bus to attend an event.  

The accident took place in the Ethapur area. The bus was stopped here and the cleaner, along with the passengers, was loading the luggage in the vehicle. Meanwhile, a speeding truck came from behind and hit the bus. In this tragic accident, 5 people died on the spot. While one woman died during treatment at Salem Hospital. The police reached the spot as soon as the accident was reported. The bodies of the five deceased were taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. However, 7 people injured in the accident were immediately rushed to the hospital in Salem by the police, where a woman died during treatment. A total of 6 people died in this accident. The rest of the injured are undergoing treatment.

Police have informed that the victims of the accident have been those who were standing outside the car at that time. All the people were standing behind the traveller to keep their luggage. Then the truck ran over them. Police said that the accused driver had fled from the spot leaving the truck after the accident. A case of negligence has been registered against him and a search is on. The accused will be arrested soon.
